I just received notice of this competition, and it has a short 2-week submission window — but the deadline isn’t until June 30, so you have plenty of time to enter, especially since this competition is looking for work you’ve already published. So, there’s no writing to do, and no temptation to eat up time editing your work just one more time. (We know how that usually goes; that compulsion of ours to re-re-re-edit our beloved piece can waste lots of time and end up with us missing the deadline while we’re fretting and fussing.) It’s basically just pulling your work off the shelf, dusting it off, and sending it in (via the old manuscript for the published piece).
